Fake news spread on the internet with disconcerting ease. Though their risk is widely acknowledged, its regulation is a sensitive issue. There is an ambivalence between safeguarding freedom of speech and address disinformation, wherein democracy’s high ideals are brought into perspective in the jungle of the digital world.
